Description
Faith in Action of Edgar County is an interfaith, volunteer, caregiving program. Our services are nonmedical and directed to adolescent through elderly aged residents who are dealing with issues of chronic illness and/or physical impairment. Our purpose is to enable them to remain active and independent, living in their own homes for as long as it is physically possible. Our volunteers build wheelchair ramps, steps/handrails, make minor home repairs, help with shopping, running errands, transportation to medical appointments, in home visiting, telephone reassurance, light housekeeping, yard work and occasional meal preparation. FIAEC is staffed by one full time program director. It is governed by a nine member board of directors and a four member advisory panel.
