Description
Our mission is to foster a healthy and hopeful community response to HIV/AIDS in Northwest Washington. We provide services including case management, housing support, food assistance, and mental health counseling to clients and families in Skagit, San Juan, Island and Whatcom counties. In 2008 we celebrated 20 years of formal service to these communities as one of the oldest HIV/AIDS organizations in the nation and one of the lead HIV/AIDS planning agencies in the state. As HIV has changed, and public resources have declined, the agency has increased its efforts to insure quality service made possible by committed staff, volunteers and generous donors including our United Way support. We are no longer just dying from AIDS, or simply living with AIDS, but as an agency, a community, and a client population we are “Living Forward.” We are asking people to rethink AIDS; to recognize its real presence and serious impact in our community, and to challenge the stigma of the disease.
