Evangelical University and Seminary of Plant City

On Thursday, June 28, 2007, a group of business and spiritual leaders from the Plant City and Lakeland communities voted to establish a new school for the purpose of providing biblically-based training, to be known as the “Evangelical University and Seminary.” The first classes will begin on September 4, 2007 with the majority being held at 105 East Baker Street, the new headquarters of the University. Other courses will be offered in Dover and Bartow. The new university and seminary is designed to improve the quality of Sunday school teaching, youth leadership, and church leadership in the area churches by offering courses in Bible and related topics. It is also designed to offer training to local pastors who can't leave the state for seminary work or who don't have the time to drive to existing extensions on a routine basis.
