Description
Ethos Music Center was established in 1998 in direct response to budget cuts that limited music education in Oregon public schools. Ethos’ award winning programs even the educational playing field by offering classes on a sliding fee scale, thereby making the benefits of music education available to every student, regardless of income.
Ethos’ name is derived from the ancient Greek “Doctrine of Ethos,” which held that music changes a person’s thoughts, moods and actions. In light of the numerous studies demonstrating the benefits of music education, Ethos works hard to allow every child the opportunity to make music.
