Description
The Epilepsy Foundation of Arizona is a volunteer-based, tax-exempt 501 (c) (3), non-profit agency located in Phoenix, Arizona. The Foundation’s mission is to endeavor to ensure that people with seizures are able to participate in all life experiences; and will work to prevent, control and cure epilepsy through services, education, advocacy and research.
Programs and services of the foundation include Camp Candlelight (summer camp for children with epilepsy); community and professional education seminars; social and networking groups; advocacy; Hispanic and Navajo outreach; information and referal services; and programs for schools including school nurse education.
The Foundation is funded primarily through local contributions from the general public, corporations, foundations, planned gifts and special event fundraising.
