Emmaus House Albany (NY) Catholic Worker

Emmaus House offers hospitality without charge to homeless women, with or without children, and small families, offers assistance to poor families with donations of food, clothings, school supplies and other necessities, including assistance with immigration injustices. In the Catholic Worker tradition, Emmaus House is NOT tax exempt, accepts no government or grant assistance but depends entirely upon freewill offerings of money, volunteer time and goods. Emmaus House permanent residents include founders, Fred Boehrer, his wife, Diana Conroy and their three young children, Freddy, Helen and Carol, who receive no salary for their Emmaus House ministry, nor do non-residential extended-community members.
