Description
Ecogrease Lightning is a non-profit organization initiated by five college sophomores. Our mission is to promote environmentally sustainable lifestyles via education, service, and demonstration. We will be offering service work to the local communities we visit. We plan to achieve this goal over seven weeks during the summer. We will be traveling cross-country in a self-converted bus. Our conversion will allow the bus to run on straight vegetable oil. Our educational objective is to encourage Americans to take steps towards becoming more environmentally aware. We will host environmental educational presentations across the country at local town events, summer camps, and other forums. Our group goal is a minimum of 700 charitable service hours. We are dedicating half of this time serving Habitat for Humanity and half serving local organizations that meet more specific needs of the community. Our most important goal is to inspire change in these communities.
