Description

Our nonprofit media and emergency alert service keeps people safe and informed throughout San Diego County. We are published by the nonprofit 501c3 Heartland Coalition. We represent your voice - the people's interests, not special interests.

In our first four years, we've won over 40 major journalism awards including best investigative reporting, environmental and multicultural reporting, and best general interest website in San Diego County from San Diego Press Club. We average 5 million hits and150,000 viewers each month!

Our mission statement is to reflect all voices and views in our region, especially those under-represented in other media. We also excel at providing live breaking news coverage of wildfires and other emergencies, offering free alerts via e-mail and via Twitter. Subscriptions to East County Magazine's nonprofit, nonpartisan news service is also free as a service to our community.
