Description
Dubuque County Safe Youth Coalition, established in December 2004, is a grass-roots volunteer effort by greater Dubuque area individuals, organizations and businesses working together toward a common goal of building a safe, healthy, and drug-free community by using multiple strategies across multiple sectors. The Coalition is based in Epworth Iowa, 20 miles west of Dubuque and has an active board with a volunteer support system of over 150 people. In 2005 volunteers established the Epworth Community Youth Center where county youth ages 6-18 can congregate, have their voices heard and gain skills in influencing the choices they make.
