Description
The Bushwackers Drum & Bugle corps is an all age corps that competes in the Drum Corps Associates (DCA) circuit. The Bushwackers' goal is to provide a competitive, affordable, world-class drum corps experience to members that's educational and fun. Physical and mental activities are designed to enhance each member's artistic skill set, and have the added benefit of promoting health and weight loss as well. In addition to perfecting music and visual techniques, members learn important life skills such as discipline, teamwork and social skills that benefit them for the rest of their lives. They also learn to manage multiple priories and are taught that their school commitments come first.
The Bushwackers were founded in Keyport, NJ in 1980 and first competed in DCA in 1981. The corps has made finals (placed in the top 10) every year since, having won 6 world championships, 6 consecutive percussion titles, and numerous color guard and brass titles. Most recently the corps has taken home high brass (2006) and high color guard (2006, 2007).
