Description
The mission of The Dougy Center for Grieving Children is to provide to families in Portland and the surrounding region loving support in a safe place where children, teens and their families grieving a death can share their experiences as they move through the healing process. Through our National Center for Grieving Children & Families we also provide support, education and training locally, nationally and internationally to individuals and organizations seeking to assist children and teens in grief.
For the last 25 years, The Dougy Center has provided a safe haven for children and their families after their world has been turned upside down by death. Since our founding, we have never charged families a fee for our services.
As the first support program for grieving children and their families in the nation, we have served over 15,000 children (ages 3-18) and have trained over 155 programs throughout the world based on our successful peer support group model.
