Description
The Domestic Violence Resource Center of South County envisions a world in which all individuals are free from violence, grow to their full potential and have relationships based on trust, equality and mutual respect.
The Domestic Violence Resource Center of South County offers safety, support, advocacy, proactive community education, and a network of services to all persons who are victims of domestic violence.
In 2006, the DVRCSC served these impressive numbers:
* 8,500 clients in 2006 and 644 were new clients
* 180 participants partook in 748 support group sessions
*Safe Home Program housed 56 women and children for 2,451 bed nights
*Volunteers and staff assisted with 2,241 Helpline calls
*Our court advocates were contacted 895 times. 127 individuals were assisted with temporary restraining orders and victims were guided through the legal process in 651 court cases
*Education and Training staff presented 275 in-school presentations
