Description
Our mission is to protect Southern forests by building support for ending unsustainable forestry practices.
Southern forests are places of beauty, power and awe -- the most bio-diverse forests in North America. Virtually no legal protections exit for these forests because they are 90% privately owned. Unsustainable forestry practices threaten clean water, bird and wildlife habitat, and local communities.
Dogwood Alliance uses corporate campaigns to create change in the marketplace -- change that will create the demand needed to end unsustainable forest practices such as large scale clear cutting and conversion of natural forests to sterile, toxic pine plantations.
