Description
The DRC is an Independent Living Center that delivers four basic core services (advocacy, peer mentoring, information & referral, IL skills training) to all citizens in our service area regardless of disability, race, gender, religious beliefs and financial status. Another key factor in defining our philosophical approach is the idea that everyone should be able receive our services in the least restrictive environment possible “their own homes” therefore we strive to promote inclusion in all faucets of what our community has to offer.
DRC's Vision: Our main goal is to improve the overall quality of life to those we serve by educating them on their rights and providing them with the tools needed to succeed and empower themselves. Additional goals of our center is to educate all citizens of our community both businesses and individuals alike on the IL philosophy that everyone with or without disability should be able to enjoy all that the community has to offer.
