Description
The Disability Pride Parade Association, a 501c3 corporation, organizes an annual parade in Chicago on the Saturday prior to the anniversary of the signing of the Americans with Disabilities Act. The 2013 parade will be our 10th.
Our mission is:
To change the way people think about and define “disability”;
To break down and end the internalized shame among some people with Disabilities; and
To promote the belief in society that Disability is a natural and beautiful part of human diversity in which people living with Disabilities can take pride.
