Description
The mission of the Diabetic Youth Foundation (DYF) is to improve the quality of life for children, teens and families affected by diabetes. We accomplish this by providing education and recreation programs within a supportive community, encouraging personal growth, knowledge and independence.
Since 1938, DYF, a non-profit organization, has been providing support and education for those affected by diabetes. We serve 1,800 individuals each year (children with diabetes, siblings, parents and guardians) through our programs and services, including our very popular Bearskin Meadow Summer Camp. In 2001 DYF began to offer year round programs including Weekend Family Camps (in English and Spanish), one day education seminars and a recreation programs for teens and children. Our programs are promoted through physicians, diabetes educators, school health personnel, social workers and medical centers.
