Description
Based in Toledo, Ohio, the DYS is an independent nonprofit organization that provides educational and supportive services for young people with diabetes, their families, schools, and communities. We provide these services throughout Northwest Ohio and Southern Michigan. Although we work in cooperation with all area hospitals, health care providers, the American Diabetes Association, Julvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, and the Southeastern Michigan Diabetes Outreach Network (SEMDON), the DYS does not receive funding from the American Diabetes Association, the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, United Way, or any other public agency. DYS services are sustained through the generous support of individuals and corporate and community charitable contributions. All programs are staffed by experienced pediatric diabetes educators and provided at low cost or free.
