Description
The Delaware Center for the Contemporary Arts is a non-collecting art museum located in Wilmington, Delaware, dedicated to the advancement of contemporary art. Our mission is to present exhibitions, offer exposure to the creative process, provide educational opportunities and extend innovative programs to a diverse community.
DCCA explores the boundaries of contemporary art that reflect the interests of artists and a culturally diverse regional and national audience, and that bring into focus national directions and current issues.
Founded in 1979 by a small volunteer group of artists and arts patrons, DCCA’s focus was to promote growth and understanding of the contemporary arts in Delaware. It started in a former sheet metal fabricating factory and moved several times, finally finding a permanent home in 2000 on the burgeoning Riverfront.
