Deaf and Hard of Hearing Services of the Treasure Coast


Deaf and Hard of Hearing Services is presently in its eighteenth year of existence. Organized as a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization in 1989, it provides service to a four-county area in Florida including Martin, Indian River, Okeechobee and St. Lucie. The services that we provide include: 1.Sign language interpreting; 2. Children’s Hearing Aid Fund; 3. Distribution and training of telecommunications devices for the deaf and hard of hearing provided by the State through the “Phones on Loan” Program; 4. Hearing Aid Bank which distributes refurbished units to the financially disadvantaged; 5. Lending Resource Library; 6. ADA, IDEA, hearing health advocacy; 7. Client assistance and referral; 8. Outreach and community education; 9. American Sign Language instruction and 10. Emergency Notification.
