Description

The DC Blues Society is a non-profit section 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to keeping the Blues alive through outreach and education. DCBS was founded in 1987 as a non-profit section 501(c)(3) organization and is run by volunteers. The DCBS mission is to preserve and educate about the Blues as an American art form. DCBS has 580+ members located in the Washington, DC area and abroad. DCBS publishes a monthly newsletter, The Capital Blues Messenger. DCBS holds at least monthly events at local venues. These events are fundraisers for the annual free Festival.
