Description
Daughters of Grace, Inc. is a 21 day at sea sailing program for girls who have been victimized by domestic violence or sexual assault. DGI was formed with one mission – to empower girls so that they may become the victor in their own lives – and five goals to help young women replace external chaos with internal peace. Those goals are:
Create a challenging yet safe environment designed to mimic life’s extremes as a point of reference for every day hence;
Create a real life learning lab that reinforces the relevance of academic learning;
Create opportunities for exploring and attaining nontraditional yet high paying career choices;
Create a monitored opportunity designed to practice newly learned skills thereby growing personal confidence; and
Create an awareness of personal power, spiritual development and economic stability as vital to well balanced life.
