Dancing Rabbit is a nonprofit organization that is demonstrating sustainable living. The natural- and alternative-construction houses are completely off-the-grid (using solar and wind power). Rainwater is caught for drinking and domestic use. There is also a car-sharing co-op where two cars are shared amongst the members.
The ecovillage is located in Rutledge, Missouri. Not only do the "Rabbits" do outreach (speaking at schools, teaching workshops, etc.) but they have an annual open house, a busy visitor program and bring through dozens of schools to educate the wider culture on how easy it is to live sustainably.
They are currently a dedicated group of 30, but hope to one day be a full-sized village of 500-1,000 people. Donations help Dancing Rabbit grow and continue its mission.
