Description
Founded in 1990, CVSM is a member of the National Guild of Community Schools of the Arts, offering lessons, classes, and camps at several locations – Wilson College, Chambersburg; Montessori Academy, Chambersburg; Evangelical Lutheran Church, Waynesboro; St. Andrew School, Waynesboro; Mercersburg Academy, all in Pennsylvania; and St. Maria Goretti High School, Hagerstown, Maryland. 600 students are enrolled in the school in a given year, served by 53 qualified faculty members. CVSM teaches all orchestral and band instruments, voice, theatrical techniques, Suzuki piano, and numerous classes for all ages, from toddlers to adults. CVSM also sponsors the Cumberbunds (youth chorus); CVSM Community Symphonic Band; CVSM Community String Orchestra, CVSM Concert Jazz Band; student ensembles; extensive performance and recital opportunities; and workshops, events, and concerts. Scholarships are awarded based on financial need and merit, and students in need are actively sought each year
