Description
CROSSROADS: Community Partnership for Youth, Inc. (CROSSROADS) is a United Way of Greater Houston agency whose mission is to prevent or reduce youth involvement with the juvenile justice system by fostering positive mentoring relationships between youth and volunteers.
Since 1968, community volunteers have been recruited, screened and trained to mentor thousands of youth between the ages of 10-17. The majority of these youth are referred to CROSSROADS by the Harris County Juvenile Probation Department. However, some youths are referred from other child serving agencies.
The goal of CROSSROADS is to reduce juvenile delinquency in Harris County by providing one-on-one mentoring to high-risk children between the ages of 10-17 who have committed an offense and are currently in the juvenile justice system. The children are either in a residential facility or are living at home but on probation.
