Description

Cross Bridge Academy (CBA) is a private, non-profit school that serves children with moderate to serve autism providing individualized academic programs. CBA employs certified special education teachers and trained teaching assistants. CBA’s focus is core academics; reading and writing are delivered through a technique called the Association Method that uses a phonetic teaching-learning strategy and math is instructed with the TouchMath® program. Impaired sensory processing and language is addressed with intense occupational/sensory integration and speech/language therapies. Prescribed interventions for children with ASDs such as behavior modification and visual supports sustain this program.

After 2-3 years, students leave with skills in reading, writing and mathematics. Program success has demanded the addition of a science and social studies curriculum within 2006/2007. CBA provides a nurturing academic environment, and view children as whole capable individuals.
