Description
The Crime Victims’ Center of Chester County, Inc. (CVC), established in 1973 is a private, non-profit, comprehensive victim service agency supporting adult and child victims of all types of crime as they work toward recovery through the Direct Services Program; educating professionals and the community regarding the special problems and issues of victims of violence and imparting practical strategies for personal safety through the Prevention/Education (P/E) Program; promoting collaboration among law enforcement, the medical and the criminal justice systems as well as other agencies to ensure compassionate, skilled response to victims through Systems Advocacy; and, recruiting/training volunteers who are responsive and effective advocates through the Volunteer Program. Throughout its history, CVC has worked to empower victims as they deal with the debilitating effects of victimization, and to empower the community to provide assistance to victims and work to prevent violence.
