Description

Create Progress is a not-for-profit organization based in Irvine, California that was established to encourage academic achievement, artistic expression, and social development in children around the world through ongoing visual arts education.

Our arts education programs aim to help children become socially responsible leaders who share the dream of a more peaceful and literate world. We hope to help our students cultivate the skills needed to make this vision a reality.

Research indicates that student involvement in the arts improves literacy rates, and even contributes to academic achievement in other subject areas. We collaborate with local teachers to develop an arts-integrated curriculum that engages students with the material they are presented in their core subjects. Our lesson plans clearly outline attainable academic, artistic, and social goals for every session, and are designed to help students broaden their vocabulary, enhance their oral and written communication, and develop critical reasoning and creative thinking skills. Art can also facilitate emotional healing and is often used as a form of therapy. Our program encourages students to reflect on their own experiences, so they can resolve past conflicts and trauma, and promotes increased self-esteem and self-awareness.
