Description
Cornerstone, located in the Woodlawn area of Birmingham, was started in 1993 as an inner-city private school. The school serves children in K-4 through 8th grade, primarily from families living in the surrounding neighborhoods. The school is the fulfillment of the dream of the late Mr. C. Molton Williams, community leaders, and businessmen and women who sought to end the cycle of poverty and crime that goes hand in hand with an inadequate education. These men and women believed that a competitive education and character and leadership training offered in a faith-filled environment could save a generation of inner-city children from a life of poverty and hopelessness.
