Description
Continental Divide Land Trust is a non-profit (501(c)(3)) organization with the mission to preserve and protect the irreplaceable natural areas in and around Summit County, Colorado for current and future generations, through land preservation agreements, acquisitions, and public education. CDLT was established in 1994 by a group of concerned citizens who felt that rapid growth was diminishing the quality of life in Summit County, Colorado. Over the last 10 years, CDLT has permanently protected 2,055 acres of Colorado’s wetlands, rivers, beaver ponds, farmland, big game winter ranges, and migratory bird habitats through conservation easements. In accepting a conservation easement, CDLT takes on the responsibility to conserve, monitor, enforce, and defend that land forever. As caretakers of the land, we are liable for keeping open spaces natural for public enjoyment and appreciation.
