Description
The Conservation Trust for Florida, Inc. (CTF) is a 501(c) (3) non-profit land trust. CTF is unique among land conservation organizations in that we strive to protect working rural lands such as farms and forests; land that is often overlooked by both public and private conservation efforts because it does not fit the criteria of many of the local and state land acquisition programs. CTF also works with other agencies and organizations to protect greenways or wildlife corridors; lands that help create landscape connections between existing conservation lands.
Hence, we have two umbrella programs to carry out our land conservation goals and objectives: 1) The Farmlands Program addresses the conversion of working rural lands to urban uses and is primarily an educational project; and 2) The Greenways Program addresses the protection of natural areas that provide landscape connections, such as trails for light recreation, and wildlife corridors.
