Description

The Dallas Concilio of Hispanic Service Organizations has been serving low-income Latinos in Dallas since 1981. Dallas Concilio's mission is to advocate and enhance the quality of life for Hispanics. The major programs are education, community health, and community building.

The education program focuses on parent involvement, engaging parents in Dallas Independent School District in becoming proactive in their children's academic career.

Community health focuses on diabetes prevention, preventative health, referrals to affordable health care, and prescription assistance programs.

Finally, community building acts as a bridge between the Hispanic community in Dallas and other nonprofit and for profit organizations. Community building is the program that finds strategies to help other organizations better serve the Hispanic community.
