Description

The Shelter provides short-term care for boys and girls from infancy to age 17 during periods of crisis in their lives. Assessment and evaluation services are offered. The Girls Home admits residents aged 9-17. Live-in house-parents maintain a home-like atmosphere, with many "family" activities. Residents attend public school and participate in community religious, social, and cultural activities. Professional counseling, tutoring, and other special services are provided as needed. Nonresidential services include Preparation for Adult Living (PAL) classes and Transitional Living Services for former foster children aged 18-21 transitioning to independence.
