Boston based Progresive charitable federation

Founded in 1982, Community Works® is a cooperative fundraising effort among community-based and community-controlled organizations. Our goal is to develop a stable and growing source of support for our members, primarily through participation in workplace-based employee charitable campaigns.

Community Works is both a means to raise funds and an agent of change. Our presence in the workplace:

expands traditional definitions of charitable activity to include advocacy and community organizing
fosters the empowerment of donors as they choose where they will direct their contributions
Membership in Community Works has grown to mean much more to our organizations than raising money. Community Works has provided an opportunity for member organizations to share resources among themselves, to collaborate on projects outside the realm of Community Works, and to build a network of progressive organizations.
