Justice by Uniting In Creative Energy (J.U.I.C.E.) is a hip-hop focused community center which opened in the Rampart District of Los Angeles in 2001 and continues to operate every Thursday (4-9pm) at CARECEN (2845 W 7th St in Los Angeles) and Sunday (1-7pm) at Chuco's Justice Center (1137 E Redondo Blvd in Inglewood.
Attendees range from age two to adult, the majority are between ages 14 – 26. Nearly 100 participants attend every session. J.U.I.C.E. provides the facilities, equipment, and training necessary for young people to develop and expand skills in bboying/bgirling (breakdancing), mural and graffiti art, deejaying, and emceeing – known as the four elements of hip-hop – as well as in music recording, beat-making and producing.
Our mission is to address the root causes of juvenile crime and of youth need for belonging by providing a safe center run by and for young people, focused on skill building in the arts of the hip-hop culture.
