Description

The Columbia Center for Theatrical Arts (CCTA) was founded by Toby B. Orenstein in 1969 as a theatrical arts school at the invitation of visionary developer, James Rouse. Since that time the organization has grown to include a Conservatory, Theatrical Arts Productions and an Outreach Program that serves over 30,000 students each year in the Baltimore-Washington region. CCTA’s mission is to educate through the arts by creating theatrical experiences that are not only educational and entertaining, but also proactive and inspirational. The organization is dedicated to making theatrical experiences available to as many members of the community as possible with an emphasis on reaching and nurturing ALL children regardless of gender, race, religion, ability, age or socioeconomic status.
