College Mentors for Kids

College Mentors for Kids matches high-risk first through fourth graders one on one with college student mentors for weekly activities on the college campus. For two hours, one day per week, the elementary school students are bussed directly from the elementary school to the college campus where they meet their college student mentors for structured, educational and enjoyable activities.. The activities alternate between higher education and career, culture and diversity, community service, or economics. The little buddies make 100 or more visits to a college campus by the time they finish fourth grade. College Mentors for Kids operates 19 chapters in Indiana with one in Illinois, serving 700 children with 850 college students.
