Colel Chabad currently maintains Eighteen spotless soup kitchens in Israel and two in the former Soviet Union; providing over 2,800 elderly and infirm with hot, nourishing meals daily. Colel Chabad alleviates the plight of young widows and orphans, many victims of terrorism in Israel. In the former Soviet Union, Colel Chabad provides senior clubs, hot lunches, educational programs and social gatherings to ease the loneliness and discomfort of the elderly in addition to progams for children and teens i.e. social clubs, summer campos, celebrations, leadership programs, a network of Jewish schools, and leadership programs.
