The private, non-profit center provides a safe, confidential, child-friendly site for videotaping investigative interviews with children who have been sexually or severely physically abused, or who have witnessed violence. Videotaping interviews prevents children from having to talk repeatedly about embarrassing personal details of their abuse, reducing the trauma of disclosure for young victims. Videotapes also provide an important record of the child’s initial statement for court purposes.
The center also offers free counseling and related services to victimized children and non-offending family members, helping to begin the process of healing. (The center does NOT offer offender counseling.)
