COAR, the Community Oscar Arnulfo Romero, is located in Zaragoza, El Salvador. It is a school for 800 impoverished students, K-12, foster care for an additional 100-120 children, medical and dental clinic, pharmacy, and more. It is known as the "Children's Village". Founded in 1980 at the beginning of El Salvador's civil war by a Cleveland, OH, priest, it is administered by the Sisters of Charity of the Incarnate Word, Houston, TX. The COAR Peace Mission, Inc., a 501c3 charity, is the US outreach and development office for the COAR Children's Village.
