Description
CLUSTER Community Services is a non-profit, multi-service, community based 501(c) (3) organization that provides services to the Yonkers community and throughout Westchester and Rockland County. CLUSTER has a $5.4 million agency budget and serves over 2000 low to moderate income individuals each year. CLUSTER spends 88 cents out of every dollar which is raised, directly on program services.
CLUSTER’s mission is:
“To provide services and programs that assist residents in
Yonkers and Westchester and Rockland County to build
a better future for themselves and their communities. The
thrust of all of our programs is the empowerment of
individuals, families and communities to fulfill their dreams
and potential.”
CLUSTER’s four core program areas are:
Mental Health Residential Services: Assists individuals with serious and persistent mental illness to attain and maintain stable permanent housing and to become productive members of the community. With four programs serving 153 individuals, more than 90% of our residents remain free of hospitalization and are contributing members of the community for two years or more.
Westchester and Rockland Mediation Center: The Center has over 60 volunteer mediators that provide community mediation, parent/child, landlord/tenant, elder care, and school peer mediation, an eviction prevention conciliation program and court mandated mediation for custody, visitation and child support. The Center also provides Restorative Justice services.
Youth and Family Programs: Provides academic support through in-school and community based after-school enrichment programs, offers a summer day camp for over 100 children from low-income and homeless families, and a youth leadership and development program that prepares youth for college and careers. CLUSTER’s Youth Programs provide structured activities which are safe, educational, fun and enriching.
Housing Resource Center: The Center’s focus is to preserve housing and improve living conditions in buildings and neighborhoods in Yonkers. The Center offers services in eviction prevention, rental assistance, housing case management, and housing disaster relief.
