Description
Our mission is to provide immediate and on-going peer support to families of children with cancer in Connecticut. Through our vital programs, we provide a sense of community and ease the isolation and helplessness parents and caregivers experience at this time. Each one of our programs is designed to meet the different needs of each child during the long 2 -3 years course of treatment. Each family receives a bag on the day of diagnosis with personal care items, a journal and a resource directory. We provide laptop computers for research while in hospital. Our hospital volunteers provide support to caregivers. The financial assistance program helps families who are struggling with the high cost of a cancer diagnosis. Also, children can participate in our home bedroom make over program.
