Description
Our mission statement is to restore dignity, trust and hope to children traumatized by sexual abuse.
Incorporated in 1992 as an independent, private non-profit organization, an inter-agency agreement established its Multidisciplinary Team (MDT), which is core to the work of the Center. Our MDT consists of 8 additional agencies, including local law enforcement agencies, prosecution, area hospitals, and Child Protective Services.
ChildSafe facilitates the investigative side of child sexual abuse cases, yet we also serve as advocates for the children and families through a legal and investigative process that is often unfamiliar and confusing. Children and their families come to ChildSafe in crisis, and we provide for their immediate concerns. Services offered include: sexual assault medical exams, recorded forensic interview, ongoing therapy support through the CARE program, court orientation, professional education, medical training and a strong volunteer program.
