Description
The Children's Grief Center of New Mexico is a harbor in the storm of grief; a safe place to be with others who are grieving the death of a loved one. CGC offers support groups for children and teens ages 5 – 25 (and optional groups for their caregivers) who are grieving the death of a caregiver or sibling. These groups meet every-other-week during the school year.The support groups are facilitated by trained volunteers.
Our Four Principles
1. Grief is a natural reaction to loss of a loved one for children and teens as well as adults.
2. Within each individual is the natural capacity to heal oneself.
3. The duration and intensity of grief are different for each individual.
4. Caring and acceptance assist in the healing process.
