Description

The Children's Community School is a pre-K through grade 5 school dedicated to working with low income children who are socially, environmentally or academically disadvantaged. We provide a child-centered, individualized learning experience for youngsters who need extra support in their early years to ensure their future success as students, citizens, and persons. The goal of CCS is to develop in students the academic and social skills, and self-esteem, that enable them to complete high school, attend college, and to be productive adults in their local community. Parent involvement is a key component of the program at the school and their participation insures the success of each child and encourages the family to reinforce the importance of education. The philosophy of the school is one that understands, has concerns for, and realistically acknowledges existing difficulties of the child. However, it does not permit those difficulties to become an obstacle for learning.
