Description
The Children’s Center provides comprehensive mental health care to enhance the emotional well being of infants, toddlers, preschoolers and their families. Founded in 1962, The Children’s Center is a non-profit agency providing therapeutic services for emotionally and behaviorally troubled children from birth to seven years old. We are a sole-source provider of mental health services to this age population in the state. We offer treatment regardless of a family’s ability to pay. More than 90% of our clients are eligible for reduced fees, and of those assessed a fee, we receive approximately 19 cents for every dollar of service provided. In fiscal year 2007-2008, we received 1,500 referrals and eventually provided services to 1,400 children and their families. This number is an increase from 2006, when we received 1,200 referrals.
