Description
Provides caring support for sexually abused children in Hawaii, offering hope for the future. Programs include: Enhancements - financial support for goods and services for sexually abused children; HEART (Healing Emotions through Art and Recreation Together) - assists children and youth to increase self-esteem and self-efficacy through a series of gender-specific, 7 week component of activities including therapeutic approaches to art, expressive movement, outdoor adventures, cultural enrichment, therapeutic horseback riding, and community services; Ho`omaka - individualized mentoring program to assist sexually abused youth in developing healthy relationships, setting personal goals, making informed decisions and making successful transitions to adulthood; Parent Strengthening - parent support groups to help them understand the complex issues of child sex abuse and gain supportive parenting skills.
