Description
Our mission is to serve and protect the abused child and to strengthen families and our community through the collaborative actions of a multi-disciplinary team of community professionals in law enforcement, prosecution, victim advocacy, child protection, heath care and education.
Approximately 30 children who have been physically or sexually abused are interviewed per month. That’s a new case every day – a sobering statistic considering the limited geographical area the center serves here in southern Hillsborough County.
Here at the Child Advocacy Center, we assist these young victims in coping with traumatic events that no person – much less an innocent child – should ever have to endure. Now these children have access to a comforting environment, with our professional and compassionate forensic interviewer. Therefore, these abused children are not subjected to repeat questioning by numerous professionals with varying degrees of experience with interviewing children.
