The majority of local girls’ programs have one or fewer, voluntary or part-time staff. It is challenging for any program on its own to stay current in and share best practices or to meet and work with a myriad of sister programs. Program staff want to build their skills, knowledge, and resources. However, local training resources are scarce. The Chicago Girls’ Coalition exists to fill this gap, to provide a place where program staff can meet, share ideas and support; define and meet their training interests; and work together to assure that professional development is available on an affordable and steady basis. Coupled with passion and a strong skill set, girls’ program staff and advocates can best provide comprehensive and effective services for girls in the Chicago area.
The Chicago Girls' Coalition stands with and for girls and their allies to foster ALL girls' development and community engagement.
