Charlottesville Free Clinic - CFC

about

The Charlottesville Free Clinic (CFC) provides free primary medical care, prescription medications and dental care for working uninsured adults and their families in the greater Charlottesville region. Patients are seen during the day by the CFC's on-staff nurse practitioner and on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday evenings by volunteer physicians. The CFC has a licensed on-site pharmacy run by volunteer pharmacists. Between July 1, 2005 and June 30, 2006, the CFC treated 1,495 with 4,202 appointments, referred 413 patients to specialists participating in the clinic's referral network and dispensed 19,305 prescription medications. Volunteer dentists treated 80 patients with 150 visits. The CFC is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Operating funds come from annual donations from individuals, foundations, businesses, churches and civic groups. We receive annual grants from local city/county governments and from Commonwealth of Virginia. The CFC does not receive federal funding.
