Description
The Charlotte Community Health Clinic (CCHC) provides health care services to uninsured, low-income adults, 19 years of age and older. Incorporated in June 2001 CCHC received a private non-profit status, (501)(c)(3), from the IRS in December 2001. Teams of volunteers (over 300) and a small staff (9) work diligently to provide primary care, solicit medications, access specialty care and seek medical testing for these patients. In 2006 we served over 1500 unique patients approximately 4700 medical visits. The Clinic has numerous community partners donating time, services, and financial support. CCHC is working in cooperation with Presbyterian Hospital, the Health Care Disparities Task Force, the Department of Social Services, MedAssist of Mecklenburg County, Mecklenburg County Health Department, Carolinas HealthCare System, Mecklenburg County Medical Society and other health care providers to help appropriately manage this population by providing much-needed health care services.
